2 Shot On Center Street, No Arrests Made: Paper
It's not uncommon for Joliet to have at least one shooting a week during the summer months.
JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police have not made any arrests in connection with a weekend shooting that left a young man and young woman with serious injuries on the city's near west side. The Joliet Herald-News reported that the victims were 32 and 28 years old, and they had been standing outside in the 200 block of Center Street around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, near the intersection of Wallace Street, when they were shot.
The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening; one person got shot in the lower back and the other suffered gunshot wounds to their buttocks, The Herald-News article reported.
Incidentally, about 6 hours later, 29-year-old Floyd Faint was gunned down along a gravel walking path at the I&M Canal State Trail located in nearby Rockdale at Brandon Road and Route 6. The Illinois State Police is in charge of that homicide investigation and no arrests have been made in that crime either.
