3 Cars Shot Up On Joliet's Culver Court: U.S. Marshals Make Arrest

No injuries were reported, however, three empty cars were struck by Plainfield area shooter, Jamie Prewitt, Joliet police reports show.

JOLIET, IL — Two months after three cars sustained multiple bullet holes in the 4700 block of Culver Court —a subdivision near Route 59 — Joliet police have booked 26-year-old Plainfield area resident Jamie Prewitt into Will County's Jail on multiple felonies.

Prewitt, who is 26, lives on nearby Pratt Court and his bail is $205,000.

He's being charged with armed habitual criminal, aggravated discharge of a gun and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the shooting happened around 11:25 p.m. back on Dec. 10.

A man in the street had fired his gun several times toward a house in the 4700 block of Culvert Court, which is the Plainfield area of Joliet. Nobody was hurt during the shooting, but three unoccupied cars near the house were struck.

The gunman ran off before police cars arrived.

Joliet's detectives identified Prewitt as their prime suspect and got an arrest warrant on Dec. 28.

On Friday, around 9 a.m., the United States Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force spotted Prewitt at his residence in the 4700 block of Pratt Court and captured him.
