3 Joliet Men Arrested After Alleged 2-Vehicle Shootout
Police searched their van and found two handguns and a controlled substance.

Police were called to the area of Washington Street and Park Road at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of two vehicles shooting at one another.

“Gun casings were found in the area and a description of the vehicles were given to deputies,” said Will County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer.

As deputies were traveling on Collins St. near Jackson St. at around 6:43 p.m., they saw a Nissan Quest minivan at a gas station that matched the description of one of the vehicles. Jubyris Jordan, 21, of the 100 block of Eastern Avenue, was pumping gas into the minivan while three other people sat inside.
Police searched the van and found two handguns and a controlled substance.

Jordan was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and is being held on a parole violation.
Dameon McCullum-Smith, 19, of the 200 block of Logan Ave., was charged with armed violence, possession of a controlled substance and no FOID card.
Damon L. Cook, 25, of the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and had a failure to appear warrant out of Will County. He is being held on a parole violation.
One man was released from the scene pending further investigation.
