300 Samsung TVs Stolen During Bolingbrook Cargo Theft: Police

Bolingbrook police say the theft occurred on Thanksgiving weekend, November 25-27.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Here's your look at some of the recent crimes being investigated across the village by the Bolingbrook Police Department.

November 18

At 12:30 a.m. someone stole a purse from a vehicle at the Meijer Gas, 255 North Weber Road. The thief then tried to use the credit card of the victim at a nearby business.

November 22

At 4:40 a.m., a thief put several bottles of alcohol into a shopping cart at the Jewel/Osco, 1200 West Boughton Road, and then pushed the cart out the store without paying for anything. The stolen liquor was worth $284.

November 23

At 2:51 a.m., someone put several packages of cold medicine and smoking supplement products into a shopping bag at the Meijer store on North Weber Road and walked out without paying.

November 25

At 5:41 p.m. Police arrested Javion Ewing, 22, of 500 block of West Inglewood Avenue, Chicago, on charges of being a felon in unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and having no FOID card. Two other people in his car, Richard Ofosuhene, 23, 100 block of Jeffrey Lane, was charged with unlawful possession of a gun and Javonte Williams, 23, of unit block South Hickory Street, Joliet, was picked up on a warrant. The traffic stop happened in the 800 block of East Boughton Road.

Also that day, at 11:45 p.m., Elsie King, 21, 100 block of Larchmont Way, was arrested on two counts of DUI, driving on a suspended license and driving too fast for conditions.

November 26

At 7:30 p.m., someone stole a Hoverboard at the Meijer store, 755 East Boughton Road. It was valued at $400.

November 27

Bolingbrook police responded to a cargo theft on the 100 block of East Crossroads Parkway. Someone, perhaps more than one person, removed more than 300 Samsung TVs from a trailer. The theft happened between November 25-27, police said. The value of the stolen merchandise was $148,000.

Unrelated, at 2:30 a.m. that day, Bolingbrook police arrested Maurice Fields, 41, of 300 block of Lakeview Circle, on charges of DUI and improper lane use after a traffic stop at Bolingbrook Drive and Brook Court.

November 28

At 2:12 a.m., Pablo Calderon, 25, 600 block of Derbyshire Lane, was charged with two counts of DUI, driving on a suspended license, speeding and improper lane usage after a traffic stop at Veterans Parkway and Territorial Drive.

At 1 a.m., Ronnie Burnet, 23, 600 block of N. Lockwood St., Chicago, was charged with domestic battery after a call to the 700 block of South Schmidt Road.

At 8:18 p.m., Robin Stanish, 100 block of South Avenue, Lockport, was charged with DUI/drugs, too fast for conditions and possession drug equipment, following a traffic stop.

November 29

Someone damaged the front and rear doors of a house in the 200 block of Monroe Road. The burglar had attempted to sneak inside the residence.

At 8:14 a.m. Dantae Brown, 26, 14800 block of Kenton Ave., Midlothian, was charged with reckless conduct, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with damage, traffic sign violation and accident/hit & run in the 300 block of South Bolingbrook Drive.

Someone committed a burglary to a house in the 200 block of Pamela Drive. The front door was pried open between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The burglar made off with a laptop, tablet, a pair of shoes, cash and foreign coins. The stolen goods were worth $520.
