$4,257 In Cash Found In Plainfield Area Drug Dealer's Bedroom By Joliet Police: Prosecutors

JOLIET, IL — A 44-year-old Plainfield area man was arrested, and his house was raided in connection with allegations of being a drug-dealer. Will County Jail logs listed the Joliet Police Department as the arresting agency.

The Will County State's Attorney's Office has charged Amando Amador with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful delivery of cannabis, possession of controlled substances and unlawful possession of methamphetamines.

According to the prosecution's petition to deny pretrial release for Amador, police officers last Thursday executed a search warrant in the 2500 block of River Bend Lane in the Plainfield area for the residence and the defendant.

Court files show that 87 grams of field-tested positive cocaine were recovered from a closet and 12 more grams from the kitchen.

In addition, 12 grams of psilocybin mushrooms were recovered from the kitchen that tested positive and then 4.7 grams of methamphetamine were recovered from the kitchen that tested positive, according to prosecutors.

In regard to marijuana, there was a lot more.

A total of 3,796 grams of cannabis that tested positive test were recovered from the basement and from the kitchen, officers recovered two scales with residue, two boxes of baggies and a drug ledger, court files indicate.

Then, down in the basement, officers recovered four scales and two drug-packaging pressers.

"He had $4,257 in cash in his bedroom. Officers made three controlled purchases of cocaine from the defendant in July of 2026," Will County prosecutors outlined. "He admitted it was his residence and he was the sole occupant. He was cooperative and gave the combination to the safe where some of the contraband was recovered."

Victoria Kinnison, one of the Will County weekend judges, rejected the prosecution's effort to keep Amador in the jail. The judge ordered Amador's release under the SAFE-T-Act but placed him on electronic monitoring that way court officials can monitor his whereabouts.
