4 'Suspects' In Joliet Homicide Released From Custody: Police
Joliet's Police Department announced that no criminal charges are being filed against any of the four at this time.

JOLIET, IL — Four people arrested by police in the Coal City area within five hours of Tuesday night's fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Rockdale man on Joliet's east side have been released from custody. No criminal charges are being filed against them at this time, police announced Thursday afternoon.
The four, who police called suspects, were being questioned in connection with Tuesday night's homicide in a driveway in the 300 block of Grant Avenue.
Around 9 p.m. on April 28, Joliet officers heard several gunshots in the area and began chasing a black Cadillac SUV from Richards Street and 4th Avenue in Joliet to the area of West Coal City Road and Interstate 55 in Diamond, police said.

Once the Cadillac SUV reached the Coal City and Diamond area, several people jumped out of the vehicle and ran off into the nearby woods, police said.
According to Joliet police, officers arrested two people, and two others were arrested in Diamond around 1:35 a.m. Wednesday thanks to help from several Grundy County police agencies. Two others involved in the high-speed chase managed to get away from the police in the Diamond and Coal City area.

"All four suspects taken into custody were transported to the Joliet Police Department for questioning. After conferring with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, all four suspects were released at this time pending further investigation," Joliet Police announced in Thursday's news release.
"This is an ongoing investigation and is still in its early stages. The Joliet Police Investigations
Division is actively looking into what occurred, and attempting to identify the remaining
suspects that fled from the SUV after the pursuit."
