Coroner IDs Man Pulled From Des Plaines River
The body of a 42-year-old man was recovered Friday in Joliet.

JOLIET, IL — The man whose body was pulled from the Des Plaines River Friday was identified early Saturday as Quintin L. Bass, 42, of Joliet, the Will County Coroner's Office said.
Bass' body was discovered near North Bluff Street and West Jefferson Street, not far from the broken Jefferson Street Bridge. Joliet police issued a news release on Friday afternoon saying his body was spotted by a boater at 11:23 a.m.
An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday, the Will County Coroner's Office said. Joliet police are investigating Bass' death.

It had been five months since the last time that a body was recovered from Joliet's waterways.
In late April, Patch reported that a naked body discovered about five miles downstream from downtown Joliet has been identified as 26-year-old Dorien Smith. Smith had been missing and presumed to be a drowning victim in Joliet's Des Plaines River since the middle of January.
