5 Things This Weekend: Free Movies, Car Show
Take the kids to see a movie - outside or inside, take in a free concert and create a fairy garden.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Allow us to make a few suggestions...
- . will be screening Kung Fu Panda 2 at dusk Friday in Theodore Crossing subdivision. The event is free and is part of the Movies in the Park series. This is the second to the last one of the season. The event will be canceled if the weather turns. For more information, call the park district at 815-741-7275.
- WATCH A MOVIE INSIDE. Is it too hot outside to bring the family to a movie? If an outside experience isn't your thing, not to fret!will be hosting two screenings of Horton Hears a Who. The first screening is 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the second is 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. No registration is necessary. The movies are being shown at the Main Library, 150 N. Ottawa St.
- CREATE ART. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Leeza's Place at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center will be hosting a Visionary Art Workshop. In this workshop, participants will learn to paint without brushes and to see art from a 360 degree point of view.
- Using found objects or those provided, the entire family can get together and build a miniature garden. The event begins is 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday at Nature Center. The event is $10 for residents.
- CATCH A CAR SHOW AND OUTDOOR CONCERT. The Forest Preserve of Will County is hosting a car show and outdoor concert beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday. The event will take place in McKinley Woods, at Kerry Sheridan Grove, in Channahon. McKinley Woods–Kerry Sheridan Grove is located at 25055 W. Walnut Lane, off of Blackberry Lane, south of Route 6, in Channahon. For more information, call 815/722-5370. More information can also be found here. The event is free.
