7 Rialto Shows: Thousands Will Come Downtown Next Few Weeks
Often referred to as the Jewel of Joliet, the Rialto is considered of the ten most beautiful theaters in the nation.
JOLIET, IL — The next few weekends will mark the Rialto Square Theatre's busiest stretch of shows so far in 2020. This Friday night, world-famous comedian Ron White will be performing in front of two live audiences. White's 7 p.m. Feb. 21 show sold out quickly so the Rialto also booked the foul-mouthed Texas comedian to perform a rare 10 p.m. performance.
On Saturday night, one of country music's favorite outlaw performers, Cody Jinks, will drop into Joliet for a 7 p.m. show. The Jinks concert was practically sold out as of a week ago.
Sunday night, the Rialto brings in a rare Broadway performance, Finding Neverland, for a 7:30 p.m. show. About half the theater's tickets were sold as of last week, meaning there should still be plenty of good seats available for Finding Neverland.

The following weekend brings Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy to Joliet.
Guy will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29 - Leap Year. Last week, it was announced by the soon-to-be opening Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 that Guy will be one of seven inductees into the downtown Joliet's museum new Hall of Fame.

On Friday, March 6, Hairball returns to the Rialto for a 7:30 p.m. performance. Plenty of good seats for Hairball were still available as of last week.

The next night, Saturday, March 7, brings Country Unplugged to the Rialto. Joe Diffie, Mark Chesnutt, & David Lee Murphy are taking the stage together for one unforgettable night of classic 90s country hits, the Rialto announced.
Looking further at down the road, tickets recently went on sale for:
- The April 8 event featuring Born to be Wild! Rockstar to Wildlife Advocate John Kay of Steppenwolf.
- The April 9 concert of country music outlaw Gary Allan.
- The Sept. 25 cult comedy showing and conversation of Napoleon Dynamite featuring movie actors Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez and Jon Gries.
At 10 a.m. this Friday, Feb. 21, tickets also go on sale for the July 13 performance by heavy metal band Halestorm and for the Nov. 20 50th anniversary concert of the classic rock band America.
