Thousands Attend Race Fan Rally In Downtown Joliet

JOLIET, IL - On Wednesday evening, about 8,000 people descended on the downtown Joliet's North Chicago Street for a popular annual tradition: Race Fan Rally. Thursday marks the beginning of the huge four-day weekend of NASCAR racing at Joliet's Chicagoland Speedway. WJOL Morning Show Host Scott Slocum was on hand for Wednesday's event in Joliet and he captured these photos. The bottom image shows Bobby and Donnie Allison, NASCAR Hall of Famers, racing legends, talking on the main stage.

There was also live music and what racing fans described as "a spectacular fireworks show."
