8 Joliet Streets Will Close For City's Parade Today

If you are traveling around Joliet Friday afternoon and evening, you will want to make adjustments to your drive.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department issued a last-minute reminder on Friday that several city streets will be closed to traffic beginning at 3 p.m. because of the city center partnership's Light Up the Holidays parade and festival.

The parade route is from Chicago Street, starting at Benton Street, to Jefferson Street, to Scott Street, and ending at Cass Street. The parade begins around 5:45 p.m.

Starting at 3 p.m., the following Joliet streets will be closed until 9 p.m.:

  • Chicago Street from Ohio to Jefferson Streets
  • Crowley Avenue from Ottawa to Scott Streets
  • Benton Street from Ottawa to Scott Streets
  • Webster Street from Chicago to Scott Streets
  • Cass Street from Ottawa to Benton Streets
  • Clinton Street from Ottawa to Scott Streets
  • Van Buren Street from Chicago to Scott Streets
  • Jefferson Street from Ottawa to Scott Streets

Also, Scott Street from Jefferson to Cass Streets will be reduced to one lane of traffic starting at 4 p.m.
