Alleged Joliet Wendy's Killer Freed From Prison But Jailed to Face Murder Case
Daeviontae Pruitte, 20, was released from prison Friday and is now in the Will County jail.
The gangster charged with gunning down a Crest Hill man outside the Joliet Wendy's a year and a half ago was released from prison Friday and taken to the county jail to wait out his murder case.
Daeviontae Pruitte, 20, faces two counts of murder and is being held in lieu of $5 million bond.
Pruitte allegedly shot 54-year-old Timothy Egner to death in August 2012. Egner was reportedly waiting to drive home a family friend who had worked the night shift at Wendy's.
Pruitte had just finished off a stretch in prison at Illinois River Correctional Center when he was transported to the Will County jail and booked in on the murder charges. His prison sentence followed a conviction for being a gang member in possession of a firearm.
