Star Wars Day In Joliet: Photo Gallery, Parade Video
Joliet Patch's John Ferak was on hand to film the Star Wars characters as they marched the streets of downtown Joliet.

JOLIET, IL — Thousands of parents and their children gathered on the streets of downtown Joliet to watch the forces of good and evil from Star Wars take over North Chicago and Clinton streets. Joliet's annual Star Wars Day happens once a year on the first Saturday of June.
The 11 a.m. parade was the main attraction as hundreds of costumed figures strolled along Chicago Street starting at the Will County Government Building and ending at the Joliet Public Library.
While the tradition continued with the Star Wars creatures posing for a photo on the lawn of the Joliet Public Library, a new tradition was also started. Many of the Star Wars characters gathered at the Route 66 selfie sign at the Joliet Area Historical Museum for more memorable photos.
