Amazon's Plans For New Distribution Center In Crest Hill Leaves This City Thrilled

Crest Hill officials say that Amazon's decision to locate in their city sends a strong message that Crest Hill has a great future ahead.

CREST HILL, IL - City officials in this community of more than 20,000 are celebrating this week's announcement that an Amazon fulfillment center will be opening in Crest Hill. Amazon plans to open a roughly 450,000-square-foot warehouse in the Crest Hill Business Park. Crest Hill officials are thrilled by the world-wide name recognition that Amazon brings to their growing community.

"Crest Hill should be extremely proud to have Amazon," said Scott McMaster, Crest Hill’s economic development manager. "It's a giant feather in our cap. Our goal is to expand our tax base and bring more marketability to our commercial corridors, specifically Weber Road. I believe having the Amazon name in Crest Hill helps us do both."

Crest Hill becomes the latest community in the Chicago area to land an Amazon facility. Other Amazon distribution centers include Joliet, Aurora, Romeoville and Monee. According to Crest Hill, its decision to make several infrastructure improvements in recent years, including a new entrance and roadway off Division Street, played a critical role in Amazon's decision to locate here.
