Dead Woman Discovered In Joliet's Downtown Might Have Been Homeless: Police

English said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet Police Department spokesman Dwayne English that this week's death of a woman in downtown Joliet is not a homicide. The woman's body was found on Veteran's Day.

According to his press release, "our officers responded with JFD on Nov. 11 at 3:25 p.m. for an unresponsive female in a vehicle near Benton Street and Joliet Street. Upon arrival, they located an unresponsive 58-year-old female in a vehicle."

English said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

"There were no signs of foul play or any suspicious circumstances, and it is believed that the female may have been homeless. Identification of the female and the manner of death will be determined by the Will County Coroner's office," English added.
