JOLIET, IL —The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has filed a felony theft charge against a young man from Minooka who used to work at the Joliet Little Caesar's Pizza restaurant at Larkin and Jefferson.

This week's criminal complaint indicates that Tyler Lewis stole money from the Little Caesars at 1724 West Jefferson Street during the time frame of June 1, 2024 until Dec. 31, 2024. The complaint indicates the value of the monetary loss was more than $500 and less than $10,000 for the Joliet Little Caesar's Pizza.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, back on December 12, 2024, at 7:29 p.m., the Joliet police officers responded to the Little Caesars at 1724 West Jefferson Street for a report of an employee theft.

English said that the regional loss prevention representatives reported that an employee, identified as Tyler Lewis, age 20, of Minooka, had allegedly stolen more than $8,000 in cash during his employment, which began in June 2024.

Lewis is accused of diverting cash during register
transfers to a smart safe and conducting fraudulent transactions by under-ringing customer
purchases, English revealed.

Following an investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Lewis on a charge of felony theft this past Monday. Lewis comes from the 1400 block of Kettleson Drive.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Joliet police had not taken Lewis into custody, yet. The arrest warrant was sought by Joliet police detective Jonathon Rutkoski, and he wished to be notified upon the arrest of the ex-Little Caesars employee, the court documents reflect.
