Sandra “Sandy” Jean Fleming Edmonds, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.Sandy was the oldest daughter of Chandler and Maxine Fleming of Davenport, Iowa.Sandy graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, Iowa, with the Class of 1956.She attended the University of Iowa, majoring in Business Education.

Sandy’s work history spanned many years and included employment at Rock Island Arsenal, College of DuPage, Sunny Ridge Family Center, and New World United Methodist Church (Arlington, Texas) before retiring in 2010.

Sandy loved the Lord and attended Bible Study Fellowship for many years.She was active in various churches throughout her lifetime, and most recently enjoyed attending Piano Melodies at Heritage Woods of Minooka.She was an avid reader and traveler and enjoyed talking about her travel adventures to destinations including Israel, Alaska, New Zealand, Hawaii, and Ireland.

Sandy played the piano for many years and found great joy in singing and whistling her favorite songs. Sandy loved spending time with dear friends and family, but especially her grandchildren and her great granddaughter Brynn.

Sandy is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Craig) Edmonds-Hayes and Cristena Lynn (Gary) Pirc; beloved grandchildren, Lauren (Brandon) Kriz, and Lucas Pirc; great-granddaughter, Brynn Kriz; sisters, Joyce Keith and Cheryl Fleming; and several nieces and nephews.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Chandler and Maxine Fleming; beloved granddaughter, Taylor Nicole Pirc; and half-brother, William Fleming (Nancy).

Funeral Services for Sandra Jean Fleming Edmonds will be held privately by the family with a graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to MADD Illinois (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), a charity of your choice, or your church.
