JOLIET, IL — For the third time in the past 14 years, Joliet 55-year-old Ricky Delafuente finds himself lodged behind the bars of the Will County Jail. He's remained in the custody for the past three days and there's no indication he will be set free anytime soon.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, the officers responded to the Riverwalk Homes Apartments at 363 North Broadway Street for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers learned that while in an apartment, Ricky Delafuente had allegedly struck a woman multiple in the face while holding a pocketknife, cutting the lip of the victim, English pointed out.
The victim fled the apartment and called 911.
Delafuente was placed into custody without incident. He was charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
The victim refused medical assistance.
