Nothing gave Linda more joy than being a doting grandmother to her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Age 82, of Morris and formerly Yorkville, Illinois, passed peacefully, with family at her side, Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Morris Hospital.

She was born December 29, 1943, to the late Mary (Fitzsimmons) and Arthur "AJ" Ellis in Yorkville where she was raised and educated, a graduate of Yorkville High School.

Linda is the beloved wife of 58 years to Raymond Cockream; loving mother of Leslee (Stephen) Wills; devoted grandmother of Nichole (Anthony) Simmons, Morgan (Michael) Homberg, Alec (Katie) Wills, Allyssa (Jacob) Foster, Shelby (Luis) Hernandez, Ryan (Alexis) Wills and Carter (Kora) Rhodes; proud great-grandmother of Harper, Owen, Sawyer, Amina, Lorenzo, Penelope, Malcolm, Dillon, Ellis, Aryn and Camden. Also surviving are one brother, Jody (Norma) Ellis and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda worked at Sparks Cleaners in Morris for nearly 30 years. Her hobbies included crafts, baking and cruising the open road with her husband Ray, however, nothing gave her more joy than being a doting grandmother to her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Linda, along with her husband enjoyed being part of the car club for many years.

Funeral services for Linda will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Rt 6 (at Deerpath Drive) in Morris, where visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until services begin at 12:30 p.m.Interment will follow in Sample Cemetery in Morris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Linda's name can be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
