JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced on Tuesday that detectives have received notification from the Will County Coroner’s Office that the 17-year-old stabbing victim at the Riverwalk Homes housing projects was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Medical Center on Monday.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English indicated that the detectives continue to investigate this incident, and the manner of death will be determined by the Will County Coroner’s Office.
"Further details will be provided should they
become available," English announced.
On Sunday, Joliet police revealed they had detained one 17-year-old boy accused of stabbing another 17-year-old at 366 North Broadway Street. The underage juvenile has been charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm following a review of the case conducted by the Will
County State’s Attorney’s Office. The 17-year-old arrestee was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transferred to the River Valley Justice Center.
