JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced the arrest of a 30-year-old Palos Hills man, Munir Nazer, over the weekend at the Collins Street Thorntons gas station.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 7:56 p.m. on Saturday, the officers responded to Thorntons gas station at 400 Collins Street for a report of a man sleeping inside a vehicle parked at a gas pump.
Upon arrival, English said the officers made contact with the man inside a Nissan and identified him. During the investigation, officers saw drug paraphernalia in plain
view. Officers also discovered suspected cocaine and heroin in Nazer’s possession that were individually packaged in a manner consistent with unlawful sale, English revealed.
Nazer was taken into custody without incident, and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Nazer was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and
possession of a controlled substance. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a notice to appear at Will County's Courthouse.
