Judith Diane Prieboy of Plainfield, IL, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 80 years old.She was born on May 13, 1946.

Judy attended St. Bernard’s grade school in Joliet before graduating from Saint Francis Academy with the class of 1964. In 1965, she married her lifelong love, Andy Prieboy, celebrating 60 years of marriage together last September. Judy worked for Christian Brothers Services until her retirement in 2012.

Andy survives along with their children, Cris (George) Vidmar and Jim Prieboy. Also left to cherish her memory are her beloved grandchildren, David Castellucci and Katie and Sara Vidmar; her faithful companion, cocker spaniel, Lucy Lu; her twin sister and best friend, Janet (Jerry) Horvath; her brother, Tom Harms, and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Margarette Harms, and her older sister, Gloria Shcroeder.

Judy’s life revolved around family, her dogs and shopping. She was the heart and soul of all her holiday celebrations and will be forever remembered as the World’s Best Grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for Judith Diane Prieboy will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. As it was Judy’s request, cremation rites will follow visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet.
