Joliet Storm Damage: Trees Down, Wires Down Due To This Storm

Police, Fire and Street Department crews say they are responding to the storm damage incidents as fast as they can.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department issued a weather hazard advisory around 4 p.m. letting everyone know that there are multiple road hazards throughout the city thanks to downed trees and power lines.

As a reminder, if traffic signals are out or not working, motorists must treat the intersection as a stop sign.

Meanwhile, the city of Joliet has canceled Wednesday's Dancing in the Square event that had been set for Wednesday night in the new City Square. "The safety of our participants is our top priority and the current broadcast does not allow us to proceed as planned. Stay safe, everyone."

The Joliet Park District announced at 5:45 p.m. that all Joliet Park facilities are closed for the night due to a power outage. All classes including swim lessons are canceled for the evening.
