WILMINGTON, IL — The Wilmington Police Department remains vigilant in its quest to remove criminals from infiltrating their community with dangerous and deadly illegal drugs. Wilmington Police revealed on Thursday that a three-month-long drug investigation resulted in this week's arrests of Gerald Richardson and Jordyn Bingham on eight felony charges apiece for delivery of a controlled substance.
Wilmington police shared on Facebook that both of them were captured on Tuesday and brought to the Will County Jail. However, Joliet Patch determined that the Will County Jail logs show no mugshots for people of that name.
Back in May, Wilmington police noted, "We were alerted to potential drug activity in the 300 block of North First Street in Wilmington. Following this tip, officers initiated an investigation and requested assistance from the Joliet Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad. Together, they were able to corroborate information from multiple independent sources."
From there, MANS helped Wilmington police conduct several controlled purchases of Ecstasy, heroin, Fentanyl and Psilocybin mushrooms.
