Cheryl Beverly

Cheryl Beverly, age 65, of Coal City, passed away July 16, 2026. She was born March 9, 1961 in Joliet, IL to the late Charles and Dorothy (Saxon) Beverly.

Cheryl grew up in Plainfield and graduated from Plainfield High School. She lived a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. She was strong, determined, and resilient, facing life’s challenges with grace and an unwavering trust in God. While she enjoyed running in her younger years, her greatest accomplishments were never measured in miles, but in the love she poured into her family. She was also a retired correctional officer from the Will County Sheriff’s Department, where she proudly served for many years.

Cheryl will forever be remembered as a loving mother, an incredibly proud grandmother, a devoted sister, and a loyal friend. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and nothing brought her more happiness than watching them grow and being part of their lives.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Caleigh Beverly; beloved grandchildren, Scarlett, Sawyer, and Maverick; brothers, Tom and Mark Beverly; sisters, Janet Lane and Jane May; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glen Beverly; and niece, Brittany.

As it was Cheryl’s request, cremation rites have been accorded. A private Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet, IL.
