Joliet Public Schools District 86 Appoints New Assistant Principals

Six new assistant principals have been named in Joliet Public Schools District 86 for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Kristin Gedmin will serve as assistant principal at Dirksen Junior High School, Felicia Hunigan at Sator Sanchez Elementary School, Alyssa Mamlic at Marycrest Early Childhood Center, Ryan Martinsen at Eisenhower Academy and Washington Junior High School Academy Program, Davina Morris at Pershing Elementary School, and Andy Petroline at Hufford Junior High School.

Kristin Gedmin was promoted to Dirksen Junior High School Assistant Principal after serving 23 years in Joliet Public Schools District 86 in a variety of roles including math and science teacher at Hufford Junior High School, mathematics coach, and academic advisor at Dirksen. Felicia Hunigan comes to Joliet Public Schools District 86 after working in Valley View School District 365U for the past 21 years. She will serve as an assistant principal at Sator Sanchez Elementary School.

Alyssa Mamlic has spent the last six years in Joliet Public Schools District 86. She was promoted to assistant principal at Marycrest Early Childhood Center after serving as the school’s academic advisor and previously taught second grade at Forest Park Individual Education (I.E.) School. Ryan Martinsen will serve in the assistant principal role at Eisenhower Academy and the academy program at Washington Junior High School. Most recently, he served as academic advisor at Eisenhower Academy and Forest Park I.E. School.

Davina Morris was promoted from serving as an academic advisor at Gompers Junior High School to the new assistant principal at Pershing Elementary School. Prior to District 86, she served as an administrator at Steel City Academy in Gary, Indiana. Andy Petroline comes to Joliet Public Schools District 86 after serving in principal and assistant principal roles in Mannheim School District 83 in Melrose Park.

In addition, Dirksen Assistant Principal Michelle Lewis-Kapp moves to Thomas Jefferson Elementary School and Pershing Assistant Principal Kenita Elmore moves to Edna Keith Elementary School to serve in the same roles.
