Domestic Disturbance At Joliet's Riverwalk Homes Lands Defendant, 56, In Jail: Police

JOLIET, IL — For the fourth time in nine years and third time since 2022, Joliet 56-year-old Stephen Workman was booked into the Will County Jail, this time by Joliet police.

According to police department spokesman Dwayne English, at 3:49 a.m. on Monday, the officers responded to the Riverwalk Homes Apartments in the 300 block of North Broadway Street following a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers learned that during an altercation inside an apartment, Workman allegedly struck a woman in the face with a closed fist. Workman was located at the scene and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with domestic battery.

However, following his arrest, Workman requested medical attention for a preexisting medical condition. He was transported by the Joliet Fire Department to Saint Joseph Medical Center for evaluation. After being released from the hospital, Workman was processed and transported to the Will
County Adult Detention Facility.

Workman spent two days in the Will County Jail, regaining his freedom on Tuesday, the logs show. He was also jailed for three days last September, that time Joliet police arrested him on charges of domestic battery.
