JOLIET, IL — Will County Coroner Laurie H. Summers has issued a Facebook post revealing the Joliet deaths of Anthony Milton, a 50-year-old man, and Michele Clark-Milton, a 46-year-old Joliet woman. Both were pronounced deceased at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday in the 1100 block of Loren Drive, which is near Houbolt Road.
Summers said the deaths of the Miltons were the result of an apparent murder-suicide. The Joliet Police Department is investigating the incident, and that final cause and manner will be determined following the autopsy, police and toxicological reports.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 5:14 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the home after receiving a report of two unresponsive people discovered in the attached garage by a family member.
The arriving officers found a 50-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, both of whom appeared to have sustained stab wounds. The Will County Coroner's Office responded and pronounced both people dead.
"Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed the man and woman, who were married and resided together, became involved in a domestic-related confrontation in the garage during the early morning hours of July 26, 2026. Detectives believe the man fatally stabbed the woman multiple times before taking his own life with the same knife, which was recovered at the scene," English said.
The couple's two adult children and one juvenile child were at the residence when officers arrived.
