JOLIET, IL — The Double J Sports Bar is one of Joliet's long-time establishments and people affiliated with the establishment do not tolerate troublemakers.

This past weekend, a 28-year-old customer from Morris was taken away in a Joliet police squad car after police say he was involved in an incident of violent behavior at the Double J.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 2:49 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the Double J Sports Bar at 1001 Essington Road following a report of a man who had damaged the front entrance of the business.

English said Eduardo Bedolla of Morris was being escorted from the bar by security staff due to his alleged aggressive and disorderly behavior. While being escorted outside, Bedolla is accused of threatening security personnel before becoming upset and punching the glass front entrance door, causing it to crack, English said.

When security staff attempted to detain Bedolla until officers arrived, police said he allegedly resisted and struggled with them. Security personnel deployed pepper spray and were able to detain Bedolla without further incident.

Bedolla was taken into custody and charged with criminal damage to property and assault. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released with a Notice to Appear in court.
