More than 250 households gained access to valuable community resources during last week's Nicor Gas Community Connection Resource Fair in Joliet. Held in collaboration with Illinois State Representative Larry Walsh, Mayor Terry D'Arcy, City Manager Beth Beatty and the City of Joliet, the event brought together residents, local leaders and community organizations to provide meaningful support for families across the area.
Attendees received free groceries and explored a wide range of services, including energy-saving programs, bill payment assistance, career opportunities in the energy industry, natural gas safety information and other local community resources.
During the event, Nicor Gas distributed more than 6,300 pounds of groceries and provided 168 energy-saving kits designed to help families reduce energy costs and improve home comfort.
