The Joliet Public Schools District 86 Board of School Inspectors appointed Andrew K. Smith to fill the vacant school board east side seat. Mr. Smith was one of three applicants who applied for the opening.

Born and raised in Joliet, Mr. Smith attended A.O. Marshall Elementary School and Gompers Junior High School. He is the proud father of six children. He and his wife, Penny, live on the east side of Joliet with their adopted grandson who attends Isaac Singleton Elementary School.
