JOLIET, IL — A 42-year-old Joliet man who resides at the Fenton's Motel at 2305 West Jefferson Street spent two days back in the Will County Jail this week following his arrest at the Walmart store where he's accused of stealing lots of sports cards.
According to police spokesman Tizoc Landeros, Johnathan S. Leos was arrested on retail theft and booked into the jail because he had an outstanding arrest warrant for an attempted burglary offense.
The latest arrest happened at 2424 West Jefferson. Around 5 p.m., the officers responded to the Walmart for a retail theft ; loss prevention personnel saw Leos take six boxes of sports cards, place them into a store bag, and pass the last point of purchase without paying for the merchandise, Landeros revealed.
The merchandise, valued at approximately $360, was recovered at the scene. Officers also obtained video surveillance of the incident.
Will County jail logs show that Leos was let out of the Will County Jail on Thursday afternoon. He also spent time there in July as well as in February.
