WILMINGTON, IL — A 34-year-old Wilmington man, Seth Anderson, is now being kept in the Grundy County Jail on charges of grooming and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Sheriff Ken Briley announced that his agency received reports of a 13-year-old child being groomed by Anderson over the past few weeks.
During this past month, Anderson communicated with the child over Snapchat and with text messages expressing his love and illicit contact, the sheriff revealed. Anderson also provided the 13-year-old with alcohol and vape products, Grundy County announced.
On Monday, with help from Wilmington and Braidwood police, Grundy's deputies located Anderson in the 500 block of West Baltimore Street and he was arrested on the two charges. Anderson also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest in Idaho for failure to appear in court related to his charge of having dangerous drugs. "The additional investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming," Sheriff Briley stressed.
