Joliet Drug Dealing Defendant Also Distributed Ketamine, Will County Prosecutors Outline In Complaint

JOLIET, IL — Daniel Stern, a 37-year-old Joliet resident from the 900 block of Lilac Lane, will be escorted over in shackles and orange jail garb from the Will County Jail for Friday afternoon's first hearing in the Will County Courthouse Courtroom 202 of Judge Don DeWilkins. It remains to be seen whether prosecutors file a petition to deny pretrial release.

According to the criminal complaint on file, the Joliet Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad, which is operated as a wing of the Joliet Police Department, made the arrest of Stern. He was booked into the jail at 12:14 a.m. on Thursday.

The criminal complaint indicates that Stern is charged with three crimes of possession of a controlled with intent to deliver and one count of unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

On July 22, Stern possessed 400 to 900 grams of cocaine that he intended to distribute, the complaint outlined. That same date, he also had and planned distribute more than 5,000 grams of marijuana, 400 to 900 grams of Ecstasy and "defendant knowingly possessed with intent to deliver 30 grams or more of Ketamine, or any of the salts, isomers and salts of isomers of ketamine," prosecutors noted.
