Jorie Thompson, age 37 of Joliet, IL, and Colorado, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Endeavor Health Glenbrook Hospital, surrounded by love. She was born on January 27, 1989, to John and Vicki (Keigher) Dieter.

Jorie's warmth and determination were evident from an early age. A gifted volleyball player at Joliet West High School, she received the Connie Bryant Memorial Scholarship award in 2007.Jorie continued her education at Eastern Illinois University where she played Division I Volleyball.

Her achievements continued in her professional life and as an amazing coach. Her most cherished accomplishments however, are that of a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She wanted nothing other than to be a mom and she often said she was meant to be a twin mom.Jorie truly enjoyed taking the girls on walks and hikes on the beautiful Colorado trails.

Jorie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Sean Thompson, and their twin daughters, Jaclyn Joy and Virginia Keigher; her parents, John and Vicki Dieter; brother, Christopher (Julie) Dieter; mother and father-in-law, Jamie and Liz Thompson; sisters-in-law, Sarah and Katie Thompson, and Gail Thompson (the twins great-grandmother). Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerald and Jacqueline Keigher, Robert Dieter, Patricia (Carl) Ziesmer.

Jorie's life will remain an enduring reminder that kindness and optimism can shine brightly, inspiring others long after one's time on earth has ended.

A Memorial Gathering for Jorie Thompson will be held on Saturday September 19, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet.A service of remembrance will conclude the evening beginning at 6:00 pm.

As it was Jorie's request, cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her name can be made to her daughters' education fund.
