He Used Garden Hose To Soak His Neighbor With Water: Joliet Police Put Man On Norton Ave. In Jail

JOLIET, IL — A 52-year-old Joliet man's alleged misuse of his garden hose resulted in Sunday evening's arrest by Joliet police officers and now that man is being kept inside the Will County Jail.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 5:50 p.m., the on-duty officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Norton Avenue for neighbor complaint. Joliet police noted that Jorge Medina-Zamudio, 52, had allegedly sprayed a garden hose over a fence toward a neighboring residence, striking an adult man in the back with water.

Norton Avenue is right off Henderson Avenue, a major thoroughfare on Joliet's older east side.

"During the investigation, officers reviewed video of the incident and learned that two residents of the neighboring property had active stalking no contact orders against Medina-Zamudio," English revealed. "Further investigation determined that Medina-Zamudio had allegedly violated the order and he was placed into custody without incident and charged with battery and violation of a stalking no contact order."

Medina was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. This marks his time in the county detention since June 2022.
