Popular Bar, Liquor Store That 'Has Proudly Served Joliet's West Side For 15-Plus Years' For Sale

JOLIET, IL — Owning a liquor store and a bar can become a quite profitable business venture and on Thursday, one of Joliet's most widely known Realtors, Brian Bessler, announced that the Karges Realty Company just listed "this well-established bar and liquor store" that "has proudly served Joliet's west side for more than 15 years.'

For years, the bar was called Sidelines. Most recently, it became The Stadium Sports Bar.

According to managing broker Bessler's listing with Karges Realty, the bar and liquor store at 2006 and 2008 West Jefferson Street are available for the price of $489,900. You can review the listing here.

Bessler said the potential sale of The Stadium Sports Bar and the adjacent liquor and tobacco store comes at a time when Joliet's West Jefferson Street is experiencing its greatest revitalization in decades. Several rundown and vacant properties were knocked down and replaced with new thriving businesses including the 7-Brew and the new Starbucks.

Bessler explained that the Illinois Department of Transportation traffic counts show over 32,000 vehicles pass the Marycrest Shopping Center every day which means that the next owner of the bar and liquor store will have great opportunities for sustained growth.

The $489,900 price includes the business, the business names, the transfer of the liquor license including the packaged liquor store and six gaming licenses. A separate long-term lease on the property runs through 2033.

Bessler also wanted to explain how this is a business only sale, no real estate property is included in the deal. He said there is a favorable long-term locked in lease and that property consists of 4,590 square feet, B-3 zoning.

In addition, there has been extensive remodeling to the bathroom and updated point of sale systems for both business operations. Lastly, Bessler has requested that potential buyers "do not approach employees regarding the sale."
