Woman On Lilac Lane Needs Her Neighbor To Stop Stalking, 'Barking' At Her: Prosecutors Maintain

JOLIET, IL —Jason Drobick, a 44-year-old man from the 1100 block of Joliet's Lilac Lane, now finds himself detained under the dangerous standard of the Illinois SAFE-T-Act in connection with his recent Joliet police arrest on charges of violating a stalking no-contact order.

The decision to keep Drobick in the Will County Jail for an indefinite period of time was made last week by Will County Judge James B. Harvey.

Prosecutors noted that Drobick also has two prior convictions for an aggravated battery in 2016 and a domestic battery in 2017, both in Will County. You can read about one of those cases at the bottom of this story.

Now, Drobeck's latest arrest stems from an incident with one of his neighbors on Lilac Lane.

According to prosecutors: on September 8, the Joliet police officers responded to Lilac Lane and spoke with the victim, and she advised that she has an emergency stalking no contact order against Drobick.

The order of protection was issued on Aug. 17.

"At time of charging this matter, only the emergency OP was taken out; moreover, it was extended on September 4, 2026, until September 17, 2026," prosecutors noted.

Prosecutors indicated that the woman told Joliet police that Drobick is her neighbor and she gave them his address. She provided officers with videos of the defendant on her driveway and walking within 25 feet of her through the tree line.

She "advised her dogs were barking at defendant and defendant barked back. Defendant was served with the emergency OP on August 24, 2026 by Deputy Kevin Blake, star 3006," prosecutors noted.

Back in 2016, Drobick was the focus of a Joliet Patch crime story by reporter Joseph Hosey, headlined: "Litterbug Pushed Down Older Man Who Told Him to Pick Up His Trash: Cops."

The story revealed how Drobick, then 34 of Homer Glen, pushed down an older man who told him to pick up his trash outside Walmart. Drobick was riding by Walmart Aug. 2, 2016 when he tossed a bag of garbage out of the car, police said. A 64-year-old man coming out of the store called out to Drobick to pick up his trash, said Police Chief Terry Lemming.

Drobick reportedly apologized to the man, who is a retired Lockport public works employee. The man responded by again telling Drobick to pick up his garbage, according to police. Drobick then got out of the car and shoved the older man to the ground, police said.
