Donald Paul Hutten, age 94, of Joliet, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Don was born on September 16, 1932, to the late Mildred (nee Goldschmidt) and Lawrence Hutten in Cincinnati, Ohio. The family later relocated to Joliet. He was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School and proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War.

Don was a Parts Manager for Buick/Oldsmobile, managed two Standard Oil Gas Stations in Joliet for 16 years, and then retired from Meyer Material after 22 years. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to surrounding states and Las Vegas visiting many casinos and having fun, which he continued until his passing. They loved being with their family for sporting events and special occasions.

Don is survived by his children, Tom Hutten of Tennessee; Terri (Micah) Rapaz of Georgia; and Toni (Mike) Dulny of Shorewood; daughters-in-law, Rose of Crest Hill and Heather of Machesney Park; eight grandchildren, Annie, Adam, Andrew, Jennifer, Stephanie, Kyle, Zach and Trent; ten great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary (Robert) Heidenrich; and sister-in-law, Theresa Confer of Lockport. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ancy (nee Confer) Hutten; sons Tim, Ted and Brian; as well as daughter-in-law, Kathy Hutten; his sister, Elizabeth Louise; brothers and sisters-in-law, John "Jack" (Joyce) Hutten, Larry (Carolyn) Hutten and Ken (Mary) Hutten; and brother-in-law, Charles "Sonny" Confer.

Visitation for Donald Paul Hutten will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of prayer service at 11:00 a.m.Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors held under the auspices of the United States Army and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.

In lieu of flowers memorials in his name to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Squad or Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness would be appreciated.
