VIDEO: Thrown Out Of The Rocks, He Begged Joliet Police To Take Him Into Custody, 'They're Not My Friends'

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department makes it fair share of arrests upon being summoned to one of Joliet's numerous drinking establishments, but most of the arrests are unlike that of 36-year-old Homer Glen resident Brian Krupa.

Joliet Patch has now obtained Joliet police body camera footage to show the events surrounding Krupa's arrest at the On The Rocks establishment on Essington Road in late August.

When one of the male police officers arrives to the parking lot, Krupa can be heard yelling over and over, "Can you guys help me, please? I don't trust these people."

A half dozen young men and woman converged around Krupa claiming to be his friends, but Krupa insisted to the Joliet police that he absolutely wanted nothing to do with them and he preferred to be taken away in a Joliet police squad car than get a ride home with one of his supposed friends.

"Sir, I don't trust these people," Krupa shouted over and over. "Can you help me, please?"

"They're your friends, dude," the officer told him.

"F*** off. They're not my friends," Krupa blurts out. "I don't trust them. I don't f****** trust these guys, I'm sorry."

Before lifting Krupa off the parking lot pavement, the officer tells him, "you've got to relax, take some deep breaths.

Prior to lifting Krupa off the pavement, one of the female officers at the scene turns to Krupa's group of acquaintances and asked, "did he just drink?"

When persons from the group responded by "yes" and indicated what drinks Krupa had in On the Rocks, the same officer then asks, "Are you sure?" she asked. "Does he have any underlying mental health issues?"

Around 3 a.m. back on August 23, Joliet police were called to the On The Rocks bar at 1500 Essington Road. By the time the officers arrived on the call, they found Krupa sitting on the curb after he had been thrown out of the bar by the bar's bouncers. Joliet police have said that Krupa had been inside the establishment provoking other customers and was asked to leave by security. Krupa was escorted from the establishment but refused to leave the property.

"Security personnel attempted to assist Krupa with arranging transportation through a rideshare service; however, he became uncooperative and belligerent. Krupa also attempted to start a physical altercation," Joliet police spokesman Tizoc Landeros announced last month.

While in the Joliet police station booking area, Krupa remained uncooperative and belligerent. As an officer attempted to search Krupa, he turned toward the officer and lunged at him, striking the officer in the chest with his shoulder, the arrest report showed.
