Going Twice The Speed Limit, Joliet Driver Vowed To Kill State Police Trooper Who Stopped Him: Complaint (patch.com) — A 27-year-old Joliet resident is charged with felony threatening a public official and reckless driving after allegedly speeding at 98 mph through an I-80 construction zone by Richards Street and vowing to kill an Illinois State Police trooper. A judge allowed him pretrial release under the SAFE-T Act, with strict orders to avoid contact with the trooper outside his official duties.
3. Explore the Historic Old Joliet Prison by flashlight this October (thelansingjournal.org) — Joliet's Old Joliet Prison is opening for nighttime flashlight tours every Thursday through Saturday evening in October, giving locals a spooky way to explore the historic site. Tickets can be bought at the gate or reserved online, with discounted Thursday pricing and free parking nearby. Daytime tours continue all week, and proceeds support the Joliet Area Historical Museum.
4.
