JOLIET, IL — You never know when the police are going to raid your house. Last week, authorities from the Will County Sheriff's Office barged into the Joliet residence of 45-year-old Bennye Brown and took him away in handcuffs. Brown stands charged with two crimes of possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Brown is a cocaine and Fentanyl dealer, his criminal complaint outlined.
According to the prosecution's successful petition to deny pretrial release against Brown, one week ago, Oct. 14, officers executed a search warrant at 1001 Barber Lane in Joliet, the residence of the defendant and Idrena Mann.
"The defendant stated whatever you find was mine," prosecutors noted. Brown was already on mandatory supervised release under a 2024 case for possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
Brown is not getting out of the Will County Jail. Jail logs show he remains in county detention an entire week after his latest arrest. He also spent time in the jail in 2025, 2024 and way back in 2016.
