Willie Adams

Born May 30, 1955, in Joliet, IL, to Bessie and Isadore Adams. “Quacky” made his transition from earth to glory on May 10, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. Quacky was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He retired from the City of Joliet after 36 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Bessie Adams, stepmother, Gladys Adams, three brothers, Leon “Head”, Lemuel “Homey” and James Ford.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Pearlie Adams, and one son, Kyle Parker (LaKisha) and LaToya Dantzler whom he considered as a daughter, two grandchildren, Brenden and Gavin, two honorary grandchildren, Jaiden Lee and Addyson Vidales, sister, Bernice Adams, brother, Isadore “Fox” Adams, sisters-in-law, Lucille Ford, and Dorothy Pruitt, uncles, Bobby Sherrill, Robert Woodard, godson, Tyler Bell, goddaughters, Ashley Whitfield,  Shenonda Willis, Toriana Lymas, Tory Lymas, mother-in-law, Margree Walker, sisters-in-law, Margie Parrish and Regina Bell, brothers-in-law, Love Lee (Carmen) Walker, Jimmy (Sharon) Walker, Quincy Walker, Dana (Sharon) Walker, and Drew Walker, a very special friend, Isiah Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to especially thank Dr. Deirdra Greathouse-Williams, Silver Cross Hospital and a special nurse from Presence St. Joe’s, “Susan” for their dedication, medical attention and emotional support that was provided to Willie and the family. The family would also like to thank everyone for their words of comfort, prayers and the many acts of kindness shown during their time of bereavement.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday, May 18, 2013 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 1503 Arthur Ave., Joliet, IL. Service at 10:00 a.m., Pastor Clint Wilburn, officiating.  Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
