Angry Man Vows To Kill Joliet Police As He Attacks Them: JPD

JOLIET, IL — A 36-year-old Joliet man is now in the Will County Jail after officials say he attacked Joliet police and threatened to kill the officers responding to the Marycrest Neighborhood disturbance.
The incident leading to the arrest of Brian Hayes-Adams happened around 8 p.m. Friday. He's now facing felony charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault to a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.
As officers pulled up to the house in the 2300 block of Benedict Avenue, where oliet police say Hayes-Adams was in an argument with a woman. When officers tried talking with Hayes-Adams, he got angry and began threatening to kill the officers, police reports indicate.

"Hayes-Adams then pushed an officer in the shoulder. Officers attempted to arrest Hayes-Adams, but he struggled with officers by refusing to put his arms behind his back," police spokesman Dwayne English said.
Following the struggle, officers put Hayes-Adams in custody and a Joliet Fire Department brought him to the St. Joe's hospital for a psychological evaluation. At 4 p.m. Saturday, St. Joe's discharged Hayes-Adams, and he was taken to Will County's jail.

He remained in custody on Monday evening, with a $15,000 bail.
