Angry, Violent Man Vows To Kill Several At Supermercado Joliet: JPD
Shawn Matheny, a 40-year-old Joliet homeless man, was charged with three counts of disorderly conduct by Joliet police, plus one battery.

JOLIET, IL — A 40-year-old Joliet homeless resident, Shawn Matheny, was hauled away in handcuffs after he threatened to kill a Supermercado grocery store employee before punching a man who was trying to intervene in the face, according to Joliet police.
The violence happened around lunchtime Wednesday on the city's east side. Joliet police arrested Matheny on one count of battery and three counts of disorderly conduct.
At 12:40 p.m., police cars responded to Supermercado, 379 East Cass St. for a fight.

"Matheny arrived at the store in an intoxicated state and threatened to kill an employee," Joliet police reports show.
When another man tried to break up the fight, Matheny hit him multiple times in the face, police reports indicate. Following the fight, Matheny threatened to kill several other men at the Supermercado, according to police.

"Matheny was placed into custody and became belligerent and threatened to harm officers as well," police spokesman Dwayne English announced.
Joliet police indicated Matheny was released on an I-bond for all four of his charges.
