Coroner IDs Magnolia Ave. Murder Victim
It's the second deadly shooting in three days on Joliet's east side.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced on its Facebook page late Thursday morning that detectives are actively working another homicide, the latest being in the 1000 block of Magnolia Avenue. A 26-year-old man was fatally shot as he sat behind the driver's wheel of a car. The Joliet Fire Department tried to revive the man, but he was already dead, police said.
Joliet Police said the slaying was reported to police around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. It happened in Joliet's Forest Park area. Wednesday night's victim has been identified as Jakias Holman. The Magnolia Avenue homicide victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds, the coroner's office revealed.
On Monday, another 26-year-old Joliet man, who has been identified as Dimitri Allen, was killed on The Hill, in the 1100 block of Cutter Avenue, near Ada Street. Allen was taken by ambulance to the Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox where he was pronounced dead around 12:40 p.m. in the emergency room.

Nobody has been charged in connection with Allen's homicide as of Thursday afternoon.
