Applebee's Closes Joliet Restaurant

JOLIET, IL - If you like eating at Applebee's, we have some good news and some bad news. First the good. You can continue to enjoy your grilled meals and drink specials at the Joliet restaurant at 2795 Plainfield Road. Now, it's time for the bad news. The Applebee's at 2400 West Jefferson Street, near the Walmart, is no more. Applebee's representatives at the restaurant confirmed on Friday afternoon that the place closed.

In all likelihood, the Applebee's on Jefferson Street's demise was partly due to last summer's arrival of the Wild Horse Bar & Grill less than a block away. Wild Horse bills itself as "A country style restaurant and bar featuring unique wood cooking."
