Armed Robbery At PCS Metro, Joliet Man Arrested
Joliet police captured Daniel Diaz driving his car near the intersection of Black and Bronk Roads.

JOLIET, IL — Two days after someone pulled out a sharp knife and demanded to know where the Metro PCS store on Collins Street kept its money, Joliet police say they captured 35-year-old Joliet resident Daniel Diaz and charged him with armed robbery.
Diaz, who resides on the east side of Joliet in the 600 block of Francis Street, was arrested late Friday afternoon. He remained in the Will County Jail on Monday unable to post 10 percent of his $20,000 bail, records show.
Last Wednesday, just before 1 p.m., Joliet police rushed to the PCS Metro store at 691 Collins St. for an armed robbery call. The robber displayed a knife "and asked an employee where the money was kept. The male then walked behind the counter and removed currency from the cash register," police said.
