Ashley Tucker Slaying: JPD Wins Award Of Excellence
Joliet murder defendant Peter Zabala has remained locked away from society in Will County's Jail since October 2018.
JOLIET, IL —The Joliet Police Department announced on Wednesday that the Illinois Homicide Investigators Association has awarded members of its Investigations Unit with the Award of Excellence for a second year in row.
"Our Investigators received this award for their outstanding work in solving the murder of Ashley Tucker that occurred in October of 2018. After three exhaustive weeks utilizing cutting edge technology and old-fashioned interviewing and interrogation techniques, these Investigators located the remains of Ashley Tucker that eventually led to the arrest Peter Zabala.
Zabala, 43, is currently awaiting trial, Joliet Police added.
