Avoid the Highways: Interstates Are Snow-Covered, State Police Say

Illinois State Police issued an alert Sunday morning asking motorists to avoid highways if they can.

“Interstates in the Chicagoland area are currently snow covered and citizens are asked to avoid travel when possible,” ISP said.

A blizzard warning is in effect until midnight for most of the Chicagoland area, with 10-15 inches of accumulation expected, according to the National Weather Service.
